About type 2-diabetes

Type 2 diabetes is a chronic disease that occurs when your body can not make enough insulin or doesn't use the insulin it produces properly, which leads to a high blood sugar. While some people can control their blood sugar levels with healthy eating and exercise, others may need medication to manage it.

A healthy diet and physical activity remain a big part of managing type 2 diabetes, no matter if you are taking medicine or not. It can help you keep your blood sugar levels under control and improve your overall health and well-being.

  • Delay or prevent diabetes complications.

Keep in mind that it is important to eat a variety of foods. Think of choosing foods that are nourishing, tasty, and easy to fit into your lifestyle.2 Consider some options as:

Fruits

Poultry
